Mini HDMI to VGA Adapter Cable 1080P with Audio

A converter for the devices that carry a Mini HDMI socket: compact cameras, camcorders, tablets, single-board computers and games consoles. The Mini HDMI plug goes into the source, the VGA socket takes the monitor, projector or older TV, and a 3.5mm pigtail carries the audio that VGA cannot.

The chipset is built into the plug, so there is nothing to configure and no power brick — the HDMI port supplies what the converter needs. Video passes at up to 1080p, with 720p and 1080i also supported.

Specifications

Two things to set straight. First, VGA is video only, so the audio reaches the display or amplifier through the 3.5mm lead, not through the VGA socket. Second, the factory sheet quotes the audio lead as roughly 120 — we read that as 120 cm; confirm the length you need on the quote, since short and long pigtails are both buildable.
