This adapter converts an XLR connector to an RJ45 connector, making it possible to use any CAT-5 Ethernet cable as a DMX512/XLR cable. It is the male-end half of the pair: an XLR 3-pin male plug at one side, an RJ45 female socket accepting the network cable at the other — matched with the female-XLR version to turn a building’s existing CAT-5 runs into signal paths for lighting and audio.
