MHL Micro USB to VGA Adapter Cable Converter

A converter for the projector or monitor that only has VGA. MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) is the mobile audio/video standard that carries up to 1080p video and digital audio over a single connector while charging the phone; this cable takes that MHL signal and converts it to analogue VGA for older displays.

It is aimed at the MHL generation of Android devices — the Samsung Galaxy S II family, the Infuse 4G, HTC models such as the Sensation, Flyer and EVO 3D — and any other device that supports MHL.

Specifications

Three operational notes come straight from the factory, and each one has caught out a buyer. MHL needs an external 5V 1A-or-above supply — without it there is no VGA output at all. On first use, restart the phone after connecting the powered MHL cable, or the converter will not output. And a custom ROM (a flashed phone) may not support MHL output at all, so check before ordering.
