HDMI to DVI Cable for HDTV, DVD and Monitors

A bridge between the two most common digital display connectors: HDMI on one end, DVI on the other, so an HDMI device can drive a DVI monitor or an older DVI source can reach an HDMI screen. Because HDMI is backward compatible with DVI, the two ends talk to each other directly.

The cable carries data at up to 5 Gbps, uses oxygen-free copper conductors for a clean signal, and is triple-shielded against EMI and RFI. The 24K gold-plated connectors resist corrosion and keep the connection stable over time.

Specifications

One limitation to be clear about: DVI does not carry audio. Even though one end is HDMI, the DVI side is video only, so sound must take a separate route. If you need audio over a single cable, both ends must be HDMI.

FAQ

Does it carry audio?
No. DVI has no audio channel, so sound needs a separate cable even though one end is HDMI.

Which direction does it work?
Either. HDMI sources drive DVI displays and DVI sources drive HDMI displays.
