USB 3.0 A Male to Open-End Cable for Custom Wiring

Stock cables end at moulded plugs; custom hardware begins with open wire. This USB 3.0 cable presents a Type A male on one end and an open, colour-coded end on the other — the full nine-conductor SuperSpeed pinout (two differential data pairs, D+/D−, power, ground and the shield) broken out for termination into your own connector, PCB pads, terminal block or panel interface. It is the cable behind every one-off jig, test rig and embedded build that still wants a proper USB 3.0 plug at the host.

Work with it the way harness builders do: keep tails short, land each conductor on screw terminals or solder-and-heatshrink, and keep the braided shield bonded at the host side for noise immunity — at 5 Gbps the differential pairs want tight, matched terminations, and sloppy tails cost eye height on the signal. At USB 2.0 speeds the same lead is forgiving; treat it as a 3.0 part and it behaves like one.

Specifications

An honest note: with an open end, wiring correctness is on the builder — verify the pinout against the USB 3.0 specification before energising, and insulate unused conductors. For volume OEM lengths and custom colour orders, ask; the factory runs these to spec.
