USB 3.0 Y Cable with Extra USB 2.0 Power Leg, AM+AM to AF
$2.80 – $5.00 / pc · MOQ 500 pcs
The power-boost Y for hungry USB drives: a USB 3.0 A male carries data and power, a second USB 2.0 A male tops up the current, all arriving at a 3.0 A female.

Bus-powered external drives fail at the strangest times — not on the data sheet, but on the bench supply: a USB 3.0 port promises 900 mA, yet long cables, hubs and older ports deliver less, and the 2.5-inch drive clicks and drops out. This Y cable is the field fix: the main USB 3.0 A male plugs into the computer and carries data plus primary power, a second USB 2.0 A male taps a neighbouring port for supplemental current only, and the USB 3.0 A female end receives the drive’s own lead. Two ports, one stable drive.
An honest note on how the Y works: the USB 2.0 leg is power-only — it carries no data — so the drive still negotiates at SuperSpeed with the 3.0 host connection alone. If the drive runs fine on one port, leave the second leg unplugged; the cable is happy either way. It is also the correct shape for a small USB hub or any 3.0 A-female device whose power draw outruns the port it sits on.
