OBD2 Memory Saver Cable 3 m: 12V Source to OBD II Port

$12.00 / pc · MOQ 500 pcs

Change the battery without losing the electronics: a 3 m lead that feeds any 12V source into the OBD II port, preserving codes, presets and settings while the battery is out.

SKU: CTC6845-2 Category: Tag:

The memory saver cable is the battery-change insurance policy: one end takes power from any 12V DC source with a cigarette lighter socket — a jump starter, a donor car, a bench supply — and the other end inserts into the vehicle’s OBD II 16-pin port. While the battery is disconnected and swapped, the vehicle electronics stay fed, preserving codes, electronic presets and settings that a cold loss would wipe.

The 3-metre run is the working length: the donor source sits outside the engine bay without stretching. Operation is two plugs — lighter plug into the donor, 16-pin plug into the OBD port of the car getting the battery changed — then swap the battery.

Warnings carried from the specification — read before use: review the battery and vehicle manufacturer’s safety instructions before working on the battery. The vehicle electrical system receives power through the OBD connection, so the disconnected battery connectors are electrically live and must be covered to prevent shorting. Do not use this as a permanent power feed.

FAQ

What can power it?
Any 12V DC source with a lighter socket — jump starter, second car, bench supply with a lighter adapter.

Why the live-terminal warning?
Memory saver power flows into the vehicle harness, so the disconnected battery cables are live — cover them to avoid a short.
