Most cheap Bluetooth OBD2 adapters share one silent flaw: Bluetooth Classic will not pair with an iPhone. This one is built on Bluetooth 4.0 dual mode, so the same dongle serves iOS, Android and Windows — plug it into the OBD2 port under the dash, pair from whichever device you carry, and the engine computer opens up through your choice of scanner app: Torque, DashCommand, OBD Car Doctor and Mini OBDII on Android, ScanMaster-ELM, ScanTool.net or PCMSCAN on Windows, Mini OBDII on iOS.
It reads both generic and manufacturer-specific diagnostic trouble codes, clears them and turns off the check-engine light, and streams live sensor data — RPM, coolant temperature, vehicle speed, fuel trims, intake air temperature, throttle position, oxygen sensor voltages and the rest of the standard parameter set. Electricals suit permanent installation: 9 to 16 V operating range, a 25 mA idle draw and a −40 to +85 °C tolerance for engine-bay-adjacent heat. The body measures a compact 48 × 25 × 25 mm, small enough to leave in the port.
