Bluetooth ELM327 V2.1 OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner

The ELM327 is the small Bluetooth adapter that plugs into a car’s 16-pin OBD2 socket and lets a phone or laptop read what the engine computer is doing. It reads both generic and manufacturer-specific fault codes, clears them and turns off the check-engine light, and it can stream live sensor data while the car is running.

Live data covers engine RPM, calculated load, coolant temperature, fuel system status, vehicle speed and short- and long-term fuel trim, which is what makes it useful for diagnosing a fault rather than just clearing it.

FAQ

Will it clear my check-engine light?
It can clear stored codes and switch the light off, but if the underlying fault is still present the light will come back.

Which app do I need?
Any ELM327-compatible app. Android and Windows apps are the most common; the adapter itself is platform-neutral.
