FTDI USB to RS485 Cable with Terminal Wires
$3.50 – $18.00 / pc · MOQ 500 pcs
An FTDI-chipset USB to RS485 cable with stripped terminal wires: USB-powered, with TX/RX/power LEDs and a 32-node RS485 network on one bus.
- Description
The FTDI build of the RS485 wire-end adapter: the same stripped-wire, terminal-header interface for easy field landing, but driven by the FTDI chipset, whose driver stack is the one most industrial software already expects. That is usually the reason to pick this version over the generic one.
Like its twin it is powered from the USB port, has no external supply to carry, and shows transmit, receive and power on three LEDs. Automatic send control handles the RS485 bus turnaround, and the network supports up to 32 nodes.
Key features
- FTDI chipset for a widely supported driver stack
- USB port-powered — no external supply
- Terminal header plus stripped wire ends
- TX, RX and power indication LEDs
- Automatic send control
- Up to 32 nodes in a network configuration
Specifications
| Host end | USB |
| Field end | Terminal header + stripped wires |
| Chipset | FTDI |
| Standard | RS485 |
| Power | From USB port |
| Nodes | Up to 32 |
Choose this over the generic version when the software or the operating system expects FTDI drivers, or when you want the consistent behaviour FTDI parts are known for across Windows, Linux and macOS. The stripped ends make it as easy to land as the generic model.
Typical applications
- RS485 field devices where FTDI drivers are required
- Industrial control and data-acquisition links
- Long runs landed directly on terminals
Custom and OEM options
Connector type, cable length, chipset variant, jacket colour, printed logo and retail packaging with your own artwork can all be specified. Standard items from 100 pcs, custom builds from 500 pcs, free samples, production in 20–25 working days.
FAQ
Generic or FTDI version?
This is the FTDI build, for software that expects FTDI drivers; the generic version is the same cable with a different chipset.
Does it need external power?
No. It is powered from the USB port.
