USB to RS485 Cable with Bare Wire Ends

An RS485 adapter for the job where you want to land the wires yourself. One end is a USB plug, the other a terminal header with stripped wire ends, so the cable drops straight into a screw terminal, a long field run or a controller board without needing a connector to match.

It is powered from the USB port, so there is no separate supply to run out into the field, and three LEDs report the state at a glance: transmit, receive and power. Automatic send control means the driver handles bus turnaround for you, and the RS485 network supports up to 32 nodes in one configuration.

Specifications

The bare-wire ends are the point of this model: they suit long RS485 runs, terminal blocks and field devices where a DB9 plug would not fit. The twin is the FTDI-chipset version, which uses the FTDI driver stack; this generic build suits projects that already have a working driver and simply need the stripped-wire interface.
