MacBook Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, 17cm

A short, bag-friendly adapter for MacBook and MacBook Pro: the Mini DisplayPort plug goes into the laptop and the HDMI socket takes the display cable, with a 17 cm tail that keeps the joint clear of the port and eases strain when the machine sits on a stand.

Video and audio travel together over HDMI up to 1080p, so a TV or monitor with speakers is a single cable away. The adapter takes its power from the Mini DisplayPort itself — no charger, no software.

Key features

• Mini DisplayPort male to HDMI female

Specifications

The same audio caveat applies as to the whole family: Mini DisplayPort carried audio only from part of Apple’s 2010 line-up onward. For picture only, every Mini DP Mac works; for sound, check the model year or ask us to confirm.

FAQ

Why is the tail only 17 cm?
It keeps the joint close to the laptop and relieves strain at the port when the machine sits on a stand.

Does it need a power adapter?
No. Power comes from the Mini DisplayPort, so nothing else is required.
