USB RS232 to RJ11/RJ12 Converter Cable

$3.80 – $7.00 / pc · MOQ 500 pcs

A USB to RJ11/RJ12 serial converter cable (FT232 + ZT213): USB-powered straight-through RJ11 serial adapter, up to 1 Mbit/s, portable and light.

SKU: CTC211 Category: Tag:

A converter for equipment that speaks serial over an RJ11 or RJ12 jack rather than a DB9. The USB end goes into the computer and the RJ11/RJ12 end into the device, giving legacy serial gear a modern connection without an external power brick — it draws everything it needs from the USB bus.

It is built around the FT232 and ZT213 chips, which give robust serial connectivity to legacy PCs and an extensive list of compatible operating systems, so it suits almost any RJ11 application. Serial data runs at up to 1 Mbit/s.

Two notes. RJ11/RJ12 is a modular jack, and the wiring is straight-through — check your device’s pinout against the adapter, since not every RJ11 serial device uses the same pin order. And this is a serial data cable; it is not a telephone or modem line adapter.

Typical applications

  • Legacy serial equipment with an RJ11/RJ12 port
  • POS and access-control systems using modular jacks
  • Console and service-port connections
