USB 3.0 to SATA/IDE Adapter Cable with Power Supply

$15.00 – $20.00 / pc · MOQ 500 pcs

A 1 m USB 3.0 to SATA/IDE adapter cable with its own power supply: connect a bare 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA or IDE drive to a computer for access and backup.

SKU: CTC4865 Categories: , , Tags: ,

A universal drive adapter for the bench: one end is a USB 3.0 plug, the other takes a bare SATA or IDE drive, and a separate power adapter feeds the disk. It is the tool for reading a drive pulled from an old machine, cloning one drive to another, or turning a spare disk into an external one without buying an enclosure.

The USB 3.0 link runs at up to 5 Gbps — ten times the USB 2.0 rate — so a large transfer finishes in a fraction of the time. At 1 m the cable reaches comfortably across a desk to the computer.

Two practical notes. A 3.5-inch drive needs the 12V rail from the power adapter, so keep it connected — a 2.5-inch drive may run from USB power alone. And if a drive is brand new, partition and format it first, or it will not appear with a usable volume.

Typical applications

  • Reading a drive from a retired computer
  • Cloning one drive to another on the bench
  • Turning a spare SATA or IDE drive into external storage

FAQ

Does it work with 3.5-inch drives?
Yes, with the included power adapter connected, since a 3.5-inch drive needs the 12V rail.

Does it handle IDE drives too?
Yes. Both SATA and IDE/ATAPI devices connect; a brand-new drive must be partitioned and formatted first.
